Hello INPM community,
My name is Jeremy Forsythe, and I’m excited to be a part of this incredible network of thinkers.
Currently, I’m a senior PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology at York University.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto in 2016, where I developed an interest in topics that bridge philosophy and psychology—particularly in how worldviews shape mental health and wellbeing. I went on to earn an MA in Clinical Psychology at York U, with a thesis that aimed to construct a psychological measure of existential nihilism—the belief that existence is unchangeably meaningless. Results from that research showed that this worldview was linked to depression and life dissatisfaction.
I’m continuing to investigate nihilism for my doctoral dissertation, this time exploring how it relates to appraising and coping with daily stressors.
In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, writing aphorisms, and reading books on psychotherapy. I also practice mindfulness meditation and frequent the gym to recharge and connect with others.
